Retiring while you work is possible no matter your level of wealth. Using the three buckets approach will help you feel more free, joyful, and fulfilled.
We can all find joy in the journey of life while still satisfying our ambitions, goals, health, and personal and spiritual lives. Adams teaches us that if we learn to prioritize living life while also planning for the future, we can find the kind of work-life balance that fuels dreams.

David Adams is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and CPA in Nashville, Tennessee. As President of Adams Wealth Partners, LLC (an independent practice offering securities through Raymond James Financial Services, Inc.), David has been committed to the financial well-being of his clients for over 20 years. And now more than ever, David is dedicated to changing an industry he feels is broken with outdated advice, utilizing his registered trademarked Retire While You Work® philosophy and unique 3 Bucket Strategy to managing wealth. His passion for the business centers around helping people restore vital balance and financial strength through life’s many transitions- selling a business, loss of a loved one, marriage, divorce, retirement, etc.
David Adams launched his Retire While You Work® radio show in 2016, a weekly show on Nashville News radio 1510 WLAC and iHeart Radio- currently transitioned to the Retire While You Work® Podcast (iTunes and Spotify)- offering financial advice and answering listener’s financial questions. David also launched his first book, “The Currency of Time” to share his philosophy of helping people focus on money as a means to create memories and experiences with those they love, doing the things they love. The book is available on Amazon and topped the new release charts during its debut in 2019.
David has been named to the Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisors for the state of Tennessee for eight consecutive years 2017-2024. Perhaps his proudest accomplishment was seeing his entire team recognized by Forbes for the 2024 Best-in-State Wealth Management Teams. Additionally, Barron’s recognized David as a Top 2023 Top 1200 U.S. Financial Advisor. And, in 2024 and each of the 10 years prior, David was recognized by Raymond James as part of the Chairman’s Council for the top 1% advisors in the country.
Other Notable Accolades/Recgonition:David serves as a frequent resource for many local, regional, and national news outlets as their “go to” professional on all investment-related matters.
Outside of the office, David is equally committed to work in the Nashville community. Additionally, David is currently on the Executive Committee for the Nashville Walk to End Alzheimer’s organization, in which he and his team were the #1 fundraisers in 2022 and 2023. After losing his mother in 2023 to a 4-year fight to Alzheimer’s, he is passionate about helping others dealing with similar situations in their family and hoping to see a cure in the coming years for this cruel disease. David previously served on the board of the Onsite Foundation, an organization that provides scholarships for people who cannot afford therapy for addictions, emotional trauma, etc.- or just need guidance to live a centered and more balanced life. He was also a wish grantor for 2 years with Make-A-Wish of Middle Tennessee.
In his spare time, David is an avid world traveler, tennis and pickleball player, dog lover, wake surfer, and snow skier, and is always involved in several home remodeling and interior design projects.
